The Taillon Family History

Since starting this page I have found so much family history that I can't even begin to put it all on here. It would be quite a job!! I have the Taillon family history back to the 1600's originating in France. This is a short version of the information that I have now. I am continuing my research and hope to keep finding more interesting facts and more family pictures! If you have any old photos of this line of Taillon's please contact us!! I have only included Brett's direct ancestors and a few aunts, uncle, great aunts, great uncles, and brothers. I have further information on many of the families. I am always looking for more though!!! The following information starts in the 1600's and ends with our family!

Gilles Michel was born about 1624 in France. He married Barbe Emard about 1644 in La Rochelle, France. Barbe Emard was born on 3 Aug 1625 in St. Andre de Niort, Poitou, France. She died on 28 Jan 1659 in Beaupre, Quebec, Canada.

  • ETIENNE OLIVER MICHEL DIT TAILLON, b. December 02, 1645, St. Barthelemi, Larochelle, Aunis, France; d. April 26, 1699, Hotel Dieu, Quebec.
    • NOTE: Olivier and Etienne, twins, were born in late 1645. On or about December 5, 1645 one of the twins, Olivier died and was buried in LaRochelle. The surviving twin, Etienne was later renamed Olivier.
  • JEANNE MICHEL (baptized at the Church of Barthelemi, Feb. 21, 1647) died and was buried on June 15, 1647.

Etienne Oliver Michel dit Taillon was born on 2 Dec 1645 in St. Barthelemi, Larochelle, Aunis, France and was christened on 2 Dec 1645 in St. Barthelemi, Larochelle, Aunis, France. He died on 26 Apr 1699 in Hotel Dieu, Quebec and was buried in Quebec. He married Marie-Madeleine Cauchon (born 16 Feb 1655 in Quebec, Quebec, Canada and died 28 Dec 1698 in Hotel Dieu, Quebec, Canada) on 24 Nov 1671 in Chateau-Richer, Montmorency, Quebec, Canada.

Jean-Francois Michel dit Taillon was born on 25 Sep 1692 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. He died on 3 Jul 1772. Jean-Francois Michel dit Taillon married Marie-Antoinette Charles on 20 Nov 1717 in Saint Francois de l'Ile Jesus(or Montmorency li), Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Marie-Antoinette Charles was born in 1702. She died on 27 Oct 1742. He married second Marie-Joseph Briere November 20, 1717.
